The Precious Bible

Though the cover is worn
And pages are torn,
And though places bear traces of tears,
Yet more precious than gold
Is the Book, worn and old,
That can shatter and scatter my fears.

When I prayerfully look
In the precious Book
Many pleasures and treasures I see;
Many tokens of love,
From the Father above
Who is nearest and dearest to me.

This Book is my guide,
‘Tis friend by my side,
It will lighten and brighten my way;
And each promise I find,
Soothes and gladdens my mind,
As I read it and heed it today.

God’s unchanging word

As Bible-believing Christians, we teach and preach the TRUTH in love and WITHOUT apology!

To tell somebody the TRUTH, is to truly LOVE that person.

God’s word is the same, yesterday, today, and forever!

It doesn’t matter what changes are made in ‘society’, God’s word stands unchanging, forever.

God’s word, the Authorized Version King James Holy Bible, has NEVER been proven wrong on ANYTHING! NO ONE has ever found fault in it, and NO ONE ever will. It is 100% PERFECT!

Have you read it? If not, why not? What are you afraid of?

If you are looking for and wanting TRUE LOVE, then that, my friend, is ONLY found in the Lord Jesus Christ!

The ‘New King James Version’ is the deadliest of them all!

First published in 1979. This is probably the deadliest version of all the ‘modern translations’, because its editors have succeeded in deceiving Christians on two main points:

  1. That it’s a King James Bible (which is a lie), and
  2. That it’s based on the Textus Receptus (which is only a partial truth).

Below are 15 bits of helpful information on how to deal with Christians who have and are being deceived by the ‘money-makers’:

1

Everything within the NKJV is copyrighted by Thomas Nelson Publishers, while there is no copyright today on the text of the Authorized Version King James Holy Bible (AV).

2

The NKJV logo is a “666” symbol of the pagan trinity, which was used in the ancient Egyptian mysteries. There’s nothing “new” about the NKJV logo. It is a “666” symbol of the pagan trinity which was used in the ancient Egyptian mysteries. It was also used by Satanist Aleister Crowley around the turn of this century. The symbol can be seen on the New King James Bible, on certain rock albums (like Led Zepplin’s), or you can see it on the cover of such New Age books as The Aquarian Conspiracy.

nkjv.png

Gail Riplinger states that this same tri-part symbol is found concealed in the tail of the Green Dragon, illustrated in Harry E. Wedeck’s occult classic volume, Treasury of Witchcraft. Moreover, it is similar to the logo of the immense Krupp Works, the German manufacturing giant that was one of the most important producers for Adolf Hitler’s Nazi war machine.

3

The NKJV has an estimated 100,000 translation changes – that is over 80 changes per page, and about 3 changes per verse! A substantial number of these changes bring the NKJV in line with Alexandrian perversions such as the NIV and the RSV.

4

The NKJV ignores the Textus Receptus (what the AV is based on) over 1,200 times, while passing off as being true to the text.

5

Omissions in the NKJV include:

  • 22 omissions of “hell”,
  • 23 omissions of “blood”,
  • 44 omissions of “repent”,
  • 50 omissions of “heaven”,
  • 51 omissions of “God”,
  • 66 omissions of “Lord”.

The term “JEHOVAH” is completely omitted.

The NKJV makes a very serious doctrinal error when dealing with the word “JEHOVAH” in Exodus 6:3. They change the word “JEHOVAH” to “LORD” thus making the Bible to contradict itself. Even the corrupt “New World Translation” (Jehovah’s Witnesses Bible) has a better rendering of this passage.

So what does Exodus 6:3 say? Please read carefully…

And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them. – Exodus 6:3

Now please note what the NKJV says…

“I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, as God Almighty, but by My name, LORD, I was not known to them.” (NKJV)

If you will take a concordance and go back to Genesis 1 and go through to Exodus 6:3 you will notice that the word “LORD” is mentioned 242 times.

Did anyone before Exodus know God by the name of “LORD” before Exodus 6:3? The answer is a resounding, YES! Look it up for yourself.

  • Adam & Eve knew – Genesis 4:1
  • Enos knew – Genesis 4: 26
  • Noah knew – Genesis 8: 20
  • Shem knew – Genesis 9:26
  • Nimrod knew – Genesis 10:9
  • Abraham knew – Genesis 12:7-8
  • King of Sodom knew – Genesis 14:22
  • Sarah knew – Genesis 16:2; 18:14
  • Hagar knew – Genesis 16:11
  • Lot knew – Genesis 19:14
  • Abimelech knew – Genesis 20:4
  • Eliezor knew – Genesis 24:3-12
  • Rebekah knew – Genesis 24:18
  • Laban and Bethuel knew – Genesis 24:50
  • Isaac knew – Genesis 25:21
  • Abimelech, Ahuzzath, & Phichol knew – Genesis 26:28
  • Jacob knew – Genesis 27:20
  • Leah knew – Genesis 29:32
  • Rachel knew – Genesis 30:24
  • Laban knew – Genesis 30:27
  • Joseph knew – Genesis 39:2-3
  • Pharaoh knew – Exodus 3:18
  • Moses & Aaron knew – Exodus 5:1

So, to eliminate the word “JEHOVAH” is not only poor scholarship, but also perverts and damages the text, making it contradictory. It is a key passage that shows God as He reveals Himself BY ANOTHER NAME to mankind. Someone on the translation committee evidently does not like the name, “JEHOVAH”.

The term “NEW TESTAMENT”, is completely omitted.

It is interesting to note that Hebrews 9:15-20 in the NKJV lines up with the New World Translation (Jehovah’s Witnesses Bible).

6

The NKJV demotes the Lord Jesus Christ – John 1:3, the AV says that all things were made “by” Jesus Christ, but in the NKJV, all things were just made “through” Him. The word “Servant” replaces “Son” in Acts 3:13 and 3:26. “Servant” replaces “child” in Acts 4:27 and 4:30. The word “Jesus” is omitted from Mark 2:15, Hebrews 4:8, and Acts 7:45.

7

The NKJV confuses people about salvation. In Hebrews 10:14 it replaces “are sanctified” with “are being sanctified”, and it replaces “are saved” with “are being saved” in 1 Corinthians 1:18 and 2 Corinthians 2:15. The words “may believe” have been replaced with “may continue to believe” in 1 John 5:13. The old straight and “narrow” way of Matthew 7:14 has become the “difficult” way in the NKJV.

8

In 2 Corinthians 10:5 the AV reads “casting down imaginations”, but the NKJV reads “casting down arguments”. The word “thought”, which occurs later in the verse, matches “imaginations”, not “arguments”. This change weakens the verse.

9

The AV tells us to reject an “heretick” after the second admonition in Titus 3:10. The NKJV tells us to reject a “divisive man”. How nice! Now the Alexandrians and Ecumenicals have justification for rejecting anyone they wish to label as “divisive men”.

10

According to the NKJV, no one would stoop so low as to “corrupt” God’s word. No, they just “peddle” it (2 Cor. 2:17). The reading matches the Alexandrian versions.

The AV correctly says, “For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God …. ” But the NKJV, NASV, NIV and RSV, change “corrupt” to “peddling”. Is there any great difference between peddling (selling, or making a gain of) the word of God and corrupting (adulterating) it? Of course there is, and one does not have to be a Greek scholar to decide which word is correct. When this warning was given in the 1st Century, was there any way for people to peddle (make a gain of) God’s word? Of course not — they were suffering for it. The warning clearly refers to corrupting God’s word, something that was common then as it is now. Only in our day has it ever been possible to peddle (make a gain of) the Bible. With its huge profits from the sale of many different Bible versions, the Thomas Nelson Publishers is both corrupting and peddling God’s word.

11

Since the NKJV has “changed the truth of God into a lie”, it has also changed Romans 1:25 to read “exchanged the truth of God for the lie”. This reading matches the readings of the new perversions, so how say ye it’s a King James Bible?

12

The NKJV gives us no command to “study” God’s word in 2 Timothy 2:15.

13

The word “science” is replaced with “knowledge” in 1 Timothy 6:20, although “science” has occurred in every edition of the AV since 1611! How say ye it’s a King James Bible?

14

The Jews “require” a sign, according to 1 Corinthians 1:22 (and according to Jesus Christ – John 4:48), but the NKJV says they only “request” a sign. They didn’t “request” one when signs first appeared in Exodus 4, and there are numerous places throughout the Bible where God gives Israel signs when they haven’t requested anything (Exo. 4, Exo. 31:13, Num. 26:10, I Sam. 2:34, Isa. 7:10-14, Luke 2:12, etc). They “require” a sign, because signs are a part of their national heritage.

15

The AV reading in 2 Corinthians 5:17 says that if any man is in Christ he is a new “creature”, which matches the words of Christ in Mark 16:15. The cross reference is destroyed in the NKJV, which uses the word “creation”.

As a final note, we’d like to point out how the NKJV is very inconsistent in it’s attempt to update the language of the AV. The preface to the NKJV states that previous “revisions” of the KJV have “sought to keep abreast of changes in English speech”, and also that they too are taking a “further step toward this objective”. However, when taking a closer look at the language of the NKJV, we find that oftentimes they are stepping BACKWARDS!

Some will argue that the changes noted do not affect any fundamental Bible doctrine. We strongly disagree. Is not the verbal inspiration of the Scriptures a fundamental doctrine? Is not every word of the Bible important? Jesus Christ said, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God” (Matt. 4:4). He also said, “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away” (Matt. 24:35). Since Christ is concerned about every word, we should also be concerned about every word and raise a voice of protest whenever scholarly sleight of hand is discovered in any modern version, including the NKJV.

Many today are purchasing NKJV Bibles for 3 reasons:

  1. Many pastors and Christian leaders are highly recommending it.
  2. They have been assured by translators and publishers that the NKJV is based upon the same Hebrew and Greek texts used by the KJV translators. However, as already mentioned, such a claim is simply not true and can be easily documented by comparing the wording of the NKJV with the NIV, NASV, RSV and other versions whose translators admittedly used other Hebrew and Greek texts.
  3. The NKJV is supposedly easier to read and understand, but its impurities actually make it doubly deceptive and dangerous.

There are so many other things we could look at here from the NKJV preverting the actual gospel message to attacking the diety of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, but we would be here all year. Anyway, it shouldn’t take a whole page of this stuff to convince a genuine, honest, true follower of Christ that there’s something wrong here with this so called ‘bible’

The New King James Bible just another in the ever growing line of counterfeit, money-making ‘bibles’! Stick with the ONLY TRUE word of God – the Authorized Version King James Holy Bible.

Responding to an atheist who supposedly demolishes Christianity

The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God … The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. – Psalms 14:1 and 53:1.

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. – Isaiah 55:8-9.

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. – 1 Corinthians 2:14.

I personally believe that debating a paid ‘professional Christ-rejector’ can be a waste of time, as they usually have absolutely no interest at all in listening or understanding anything a believer has to say, even when they are shown overwhelming evidence of the truth. I’m reminded of what Jesus said, that:

No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: – John 6:44.

However, saying that, when I saw the title of the below YouTube video recently, I was intrigued as to how Mr Sam Harris ‘demolished’ Christianity as it says – something that NO ONE has ever been able to do at any time in history (and people certainly have tried – one atheist chap from centuries ago whose name escapes me, was recorded as saying on his deathbed something about “within 50 years Christianity will be forgotten” – well, it’s still here, and the atheist is not). So, I decided to watch this video and felt compelled at the same time to offer my immediate thoughts/responses along the way, which I’ve listed below.

NOTE: There is so much more I could write here (accompanied by a ton of scripture verses and historical references) in response to Mr Harris’ statements, but as mentioned above I simply don’t want to spend too much time on it. Hopefully, what I have written though will help some of you who are at college or university to continue to be confident and steadfast in your faith. Always let me know if there’s anything that I may be able to help you with.

Video timings with immediate thoughts

00:19 – Jesus is the ONLY way. There is no other alternative.

00:35 – There’s plenty of evidence – the PERFECT Book (the Authorized Version King James Holy Bible) that has never been proven wrong on anything – so when Hell is mentioned within it then it must be real. Jesus Himself mentioned Hell too, many times. And there’s also plenty of evidence that Jesus walked this earth and is God in the flesh.

00:40 – Consequences of believing in Hell? How about the consequences in NOT believing in Hell – they are far greater.

00:53 – Here we go again with the ‘children card’. It’s a classic starting point for an atheist who desperately wants to get the audience on their side. He says too “die before the age of five” – if he knew anything about God, he would know that a child is safe under God’s protection until they reach the age of accountability (Romans 4:15 & 5:13), which is where they understand that they have sinned against God. This age varies from child to child, hence the reason why a specific age is not mentioned in the Bible.

01:00 – Here we go again with ‘breaking it down’ statistics, again to just try and shock the audience into believing his unbelief.

01:20 – Classic calm speaking, which makes him sound like he’s a reasonable, caring man, and of course, the ‘dramatic pauses’ (taught in every decent ‘How to be a better presenter’ class).

01:28 – Now he brings the parents into it. Desperation here.

01:40“and their prayers will NOT be answered” – how does he know this? Does he know what every one of those parents are praying for?

01:42 – Another dramatic pause.

01:45 – Death and suffering is NOT according to God’s plan – 2 Peter 3:9.

01:48 – Another dramatic pause.

02:00 – All personal opinion here with absolutely ZERO understanding of who God is, and how and why He does things. And at the end of the day, God can do whatever He wants, because He’s the One Who has given us life in the first place – Job 1:20-22. Mr Harris can’t understand this anyway, as the natural, unsaved person is spiritually discerned (1 Corinthians 2:14).

02:07 – Another dramatic pause.

02:12 – No one goes to Hell because they are “praying to the wrong god” – they go to Hell because they have NOT believed the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. The good news that God Himself died for our sins, was buried (and went to Hell for us), and rose again the third day, and by believing this with all our heart (a free gift!), we go the Heaven when we die.

02:25“born into the wrong culture” – what is the RIGHT culture pray tell? Every man and woman (regardless of who they are or where they live) is born into this world IN sin – Romans 5:12; 3:10 & 23.

02:30“miss the revelation” – pretty much everyone on this planet (perhaps apart from some tribes in unreached, secluded areas of the globe), knows the name of Jesus. They know something about a “man who died on a cross for sinners”. There are NOT too many groups of people in this ‘always on’ digitally connected world who have never heard of the name Jesus before. BUT, for the ones who have NOT heard the Gospel message and they die without Christ, then God (being the Righteous Judge He is), will judge them according to the acceptance of the revelation He gave them (e.g. creation, moral standards within their own tribes, etc.) – Romans 2:11-15; Genesis 12:17-20. Everyone knows what is TRULY right and wrong in this world, because God has written His Law on the hearts of everyone regardless of who or where they are, or whether they hear the Gospel or not.

02:42 – Interesting how he’s making it the ‘universe’ of his fellow debater. It’s GOD’s universe and He makes the rules.

02:49 – See 02:12 comments.

02:52 – Another dramatic pause.

02:56 – See 00:35 comments. Also says in a TON of other scripture verses!

03:21 – God didn’t create any cultural isolation. Man was dispersed at Babel (Genesis 11:9); ALL with the SAME knowledge of the One True God. God shows great love and mercy by ‘winking’ at people’s ignorance of Him (Acts 17:22-34), but now of course wants ALL to come to repentance. God didn’t “engineer” their deaths; He had a plan already set in place to SAVE them and give them eternal life.

03:31 – God created Hell for the Devil and his angels (Matthew 25:41; Revelation 20:10) NOT for man, who God came to SAVE from that place.

03:40 – ALL sin is sin to a holy God. Man’s laws have different classifications and penalties for different types of acts that break the law. But to God, because we are born in sin, there is NO GOOD in any of us (Isaiah 64:6). We are simply sinners (in imagination, thought, deed, action, etc.); and there are only ‘nicer’ and ‘worse’ sinners than others, but we are ALL sinners nonetheless. And God’s salvation is open to ANYONE who truly repents and believes the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.

04:03“moral accountability” – it’s interesting that he keeps using the term ‘morals’ – where does an atheist get THEIR morals from exactly?

04:12“innocent people” – who is “innocent” in this world if we are ALL born in sin and DO sin every moment of the day? “double standards” – I agree that Christians shouldn’t use the phrase “God is mysterious” when bad things happen; a Christian should ALWAYS bring it back to the scriptures as to WHY bad things happen, and that it has NOTHING to do with God, but ALL to do with man’s rebellious, greedy, selfish, lustful, covetous, sick and twisted sinful nature.

05:07 – God IS good all the time! It doesn’t matter what happens in this world, God is good – (Job 1:21). This atheist probably proclaims his OWN goodness (Proverbs 20:6) especially as he is his OWN god (Judges 21:25).

05:23“tiresome” – see 04:12 “double standards” comment. Here we go with the ‘morals’ again. What ‘morals’ does he have in order to try and condemn God?

05:34 – He’s now confusing true Biblical Christianity with the so-called ‘Christian’ prosperity, charlatan TV preachers out there. This is the problem that these cults cause for true Christianity. They cause people such as Mr Harris to blaspheme God.

05:54 – How on earth does he know what the omnipresent God accomplishes in people’s lives? “imposed” – he selects his words wisely – God does NOT impose anything on anybody; he has given everyone a free will to do as they please, and to accept or reject the free gift of salvation.

06:09 – So what does atheism offer anyone? Well, you’re seeing the results of a humanistic, atheistic, God-rejecting society today here in the UK, the USA and other once-known-as-Christian countries around the world. “fail to reason honestly” – honestly? has this man actually read the Bible with an open, HONEST heart and spoken to genuinely saved Christians about what true Biblical Christianity is all about? I very much doubt it. “to care sufficiently about the suffering of other human beings” – you cannot get more caring people in this world than true saved Bible-believing (rightly dividing the true word of God), blood washed Christians who continually try to warn people about Hell and to show how they can escape going there. What does an atheist do? NOTHING, because they believe in nothing, they don’t have any moral standards of their own, and when they die that’s basically it – nothing. The funny thing is – WHY is this man even bothering to debate anything at all with a Christian or anyone else of faith, or trying to convince others about how wrong we all are and how right he is, when he only has one life that will end in nothing? Mr Harris, why not just go and live your life and don’t waste your valuable, precious time worrying about what anyone else believes?! I certainly wouldn’t worry if I were an atheist!

06:22 – And here it is – the next classic argument that atheists bring to the debating table – slavery in the Bible. What this man fails to understand (is it because he is ignorant of it or deliberately trying to deceive his audience because he simply hates Jesus and Christians?) is that slavery in Biblical times was very different from the slavery that was practiced in the past few centuries in many parts of the world. The slavery in the Bible was not based exclusively on race. People were not enslaved because of their nationality or the colour of their skin. Slavery was based more on economics; it was a matter of social status. People sold themselves as slaves when they could not pay their debts or provide for their families. In New Testament times, sometimes doctors, lawyers, and even politicians were slaves of someone else. Some people actually chose to be slaves so as to have all their needs provided for by their masters. Both the Old and New Testaments condemn the practice of ‘man-stealing’, which is what happened in Africa in the 16th to 19th centuries. Africans were rounded up by slave-hunters, who sold them to slave-traders, who brought them to the New World to work on plantations and farms. This practice is abhorrent to God. In fact, the penalty for such a crime in the Mosaic Law was death (Exodus 21:16). Similarly, in the New Testament, slave-traders are listed among those who are ‘ungodly and sinners’ and are in the same category as those who kill their fathers or mothers, murderers, adulterers, and liars and perjurers (1 Timothy 1:8-10). And don’t forget it was Christians who ended the ‘white man, black man’ slavery in the recent past – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slavery_Abolition_Act_1833

06:30“imaginary crimes such as witchcraft” – one only has to look back at a long history of witchcraft-related crimes of kidnappings and human blood sacrifices and so on that continue even to this day (and is in fact worse!). Also, is illicit drug use/crime today “imaginary”? The word ‘sorcery’ comes from our word ‘pharmacy’ in the Greek. Literally, ‘sorcery’ means the use of drugs.

06:38 – God can do whatever He wants, but it is ALWAYS for good – Romans 8:28. It’s a tactic of atheists to ‘throw in’ a few Biblical words or phrases every now and then to make out that they have read and understood the Bible.

07:00 – Again, putting himself ABOVE God. See 02:00 comments. Back to the “slaughter of children”-card again; playing to the audience followed by a dramatic pause to let it ‘sink in’.

07:35 – Of course a Christian can say in “moral terms” that it’s WRONG to murder people in suicide bombings. Even if they weren’t “praying to the wrong god”, it’s still morally wrong, and ONLY a Christian can say that because it’s God Who has given every person on this earth (and who has ever lived), a conscience to know what is right and wrong. Again, where does an atheist get THEIR moral standards from?

07:55“if they had the right God” then they wouldn’t be blowing people up!

08:02“psychopaths and psychotics” – you ARE saying exactly that!

08:09 – Are you saying that ALL those billions of people are all “decent and sane” – really? I thought you classed them as “lunatics”? I agree, by the way, that religion is indeed horrible; because Biblical Christianity is NOT a religion, it is a restored relationship with God.

08:21 – Now he’s confusing the false religion and cult of Roman Catholicism with true Christianity. Again, is he just ignorant of this or is he deliberately putting them together to promote his hatred of Christ?

08:43 – Here’s where he completely starts to ‘fall apart’ – “bad evidence”? really? The evidence about the existence of Christ on this earth, his death, his buried, his resurrection is overwhelming! Mr Harris, if you are as intelligent as you think you are, then surely you would have done your homework and found the same conclusion of the overwhelming evidence! Even external sources (outside of the Bible – Josephus and others) confirm Jesus walked this earth.

08:56 – The pause and stutter say it all! What on earth is he talking about now? “the doctrine’s implausibility”? See 00:35 comments.

09:13 – What we know now about the cosmos was already written about in the Bible. Science today is at least 2,000 years BEHIND what God already wrote for us in His inspired and preserved word. “what we know about the all too human origins of the scripture”? Like what exactly – what is it we know about this – expand, back it up, what are you talking about?

09:25 – Christianity IS the “moral wealth of the world”. Just look at the state of the world today now people have taken God and His word OUT of the schools, courts, prisons, hospitals, governments, etc., the world is in a mess and it will only get worse, because the world wants nothing to do with Jesus Christ. People forget that ALL morals come from God’s 10 Commandments, which is written on their hearts.

09:38 – He’s reaching now trying to associate Christ’s death on the cross with Christian human sacrifice! It was RELIGION that put Him on the cross! I do agree though that the Roman Catholics try to re-sacrifice Christ every week in their Mass (they are the ‘power’ too that put Christ on the cross in the first place), and they will play an key role in the Tribulation end times with sacrifices of Jews (it’s all written in the Bible!). Mr Harris, once again, do NOT confuse Roman Catholicism with Biblical Christianity.

09:53 – Once again, Christianity is NOT a religion. And the Lord Jesus Christ was NOT a human – He is God manifest in the flesh of man Who became a voluntary substitutionary sacrifice for us ALL – once and for all – Hebrews 1:3, 10:12. Mr Harris mis-quotes scripture by leaving out the essential “begotten”, and also quotes the chapter and verse without looking at his notes to give the impression that he knows the Bible and knows what’s in it.

10:07“so that none need suffer Hell” – Jesus suffered the crucifixion and going to Hell for us – I would say that that’s pretty loving to me my friend! “except for those billions in India” – Christ died for ALL – see 02:25 and 02:30 comments.

10:19 – Whoaa! He’s finally gone! “scientific ignorance”? are you mad Sam?! The Bible has science ALL OVER IT! The founders of modern science were Christians. The science we have today is already written about in God’s word!

10:28 – Now he’s mentioning something that has NOTHING to do with the Bible – he’s deceiving the audience once again. What he’s actually talking about is Hitobashira (人柱 human pillar), practiced formerly in Japan, is a human sacrifice, buried alive under or near large-scale buildings like dams, bridges, and castles, as a prayer to the gods so that the building is not destroyed by natural disasters such as floods or by enemy attacks. Hitobashira can also refer to workers who were buried alive under inhumane conditions. Notice how he brings “children” into it again to try to confirm his opening comments.

10:53“sorts of people who wrote the Bible”? Total tosh! The man is reaching so far he puts Mister Fantastic to shame!

10:55 – Another dramatic pause.

10:59 – Now he says that the morals in Christianity are the lowest. Do saved Bible-believing Christians murder people? Do they blow people up? Do they rob from and steal from and cheat their neighbours? Do they act violently towards people and deliberately go out to cause pain and suffering to their fellow man and woman? If there are people like this, then please tell me who they are Mr Harris.

Closing remarks

Now, I know that if any unrepentant, rebellious atheist sees my responses here they would still dismiss everything I’ve said, because they will just say that I’m quoting the Bible and they don’t believe the Bible – and that’s absolutely fine with me. But just because someone does NOT believe the Bible, does NOT mean that it is untrue. And we must remember, that the reason why we reference the Bible is because the Bible has NEVER been proven wrong on ANYTHING! We are well within our rights to reference the Bible just like an atheist can reference his/her science books if they want to.

NO ONE has ever found a fault in the word of God – the Authorized Version King James Holy Bible. And THAT’S why your ‘atheist apologists’ (yes, atheism IS a religion – they are their own god and it’s based on their faith of nothing) can only come out with PERSONAL OPINIONS and JUDGMENTS on how God should act, what He should do, why He’s so “nasty” and “unloving”, and, and, and. That’s all they can do, because they are in direct rebellion to their Creator.

Atheists hate Jesus Christ, and therefore they hate Christians (John 15:18; Luke 21:17). And that’s the real motive as to why they spend their one life trying to convince people that there is no God.

As with ALL atheists, something happened to Mr Harris during his life that took him away from the belief in God. No child is born an atheist. Belief in God is educated OUT of children (by parents or schools) as they grow up. I do pray that Mr Harris humbles himself at some point, and sees that there IS a Creator – the God of the Bible who loves him and invites him to eternal life in Heaven by the Lord Jesus Christ. Otherwise he WILL burn in the very Hell for which he claims there is no evidence.

But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. – Matthew 5:44-45.

Hell and the Grave are NOT the same

Show these verses to your Jehovah’s Witnesses friends!

O LORD, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit. – Psalms 30:3.

And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice. – Jonah 2:2.

For David speaketh concerning him, I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved: Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope: Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance. Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day. Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne; He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption. – Acts 2:25-31.

One more strike and you’re out – ‘Soul Ties’

This is the first post in a new regular series called ‘One more strike and you’re out’ where we take a very quick look at a popular (and widely accepted) false teaching within Christian churches today.

We start with the topic of ‘Soul Ties’. Here’s a definition from a popular Christian website:

“The Bible speaks of what is today known as soul ties. In the Bible, it doesn’t use the word soul tie, but it speaks of them when it talks about souls being knit together, becoming one flesh, etc. A soul tie can serve many functions, but in it’s simplest form, it ties two souls together in the spiritual realm.”

Let’s take a look at this. Firstly, the term ‘Soul Ties’ appears NOWHERE in the Bible, and secondly, neither does the concept it describes, i.e. supposedly uniting or tying one person’s soul to the soul of another person in some way.

False teachers misrepresent the meaning of certain passages in the Bible, like:

And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking unto Saul, that the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul. – 1 Samuel 18:1.

and

What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh. – 1 Corinthians 6:16.

They claim that these passages are examples of ‘knitting souls together’, but their claim is not supported by a proper interpretation of what is written. Instead, this is yet another case of false teaching distorting the true meaning of scripture to promulgate strange myths built upon speculation. One can be reminded of what it says in 1 Timothy 1:4:

Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do. – 1 Timothy 1:4.

So, what does the Bible actually say?

The Bible teaches that a saved Christian is united with Christ alone and with no one else. Even in marriage we unite only in FLESH until the death of the body according to Romans 7, and NOT in spirit or soul.

In 1 Samuel 18:1, “knit” simply means that Jonathan and David entered into a covenant together (v3). Covenants unite two people in a lifelong earthly bond, NOT some sort of ‘spiritual or soul realm’ bond.

Jonathan felt great affection and admiration for David (a ‘type’ of the Lord Jesus Christ), recognising him to be the future king of Israel, and so he became devoted to David, and entered into a covenant with him. It describes their deep emotional and covenantal bond.

In the case of 1 Corinthians 6:16, Paul warns believers not to become “one flesh” with prostitutes through an act of sexual immorality. Notice Paul’s concern was that of becoming one FLESH, NOT one spirit or one soul. He was describing the life-long bond of marriage, not a special spiritual union.

Final thoughts

If there is anything that you still have in your life that reminds you of some ‘bad times’ in your unsaved days, for example, then you should WANT to get rid of them anyway, and to keep you life as clean and pleasing to the Lord as you can. However, there is NO Biblical support for the concept of ‘soul ties’; it’s a false teaching.

Stick with what the word of God says, and compare scripture with scripture. And ask the Lord to reveal His TRUTH to you about these and such things.

9 things that will help you in your Bible studies

Here are nine things to help you in your study of God’s word:

Get a King James Bible

Anything other than an Authorized Version King James Holy Bible will hinder your spiritual growth and understanding. Use the Book that God gave us!

Develop a regular reading habit

We are indeed commanded to study the Bible (2 Timothy 2:15), but don’t forget to spend some time each day reading it too. Regular reading will familiarise yourself with its vocabulary, characters, precious promises, valuable lessons, and doctrinal truths. The more familiar you become with God’s word the more you’ll enjoy it.

Have a Bible with you always

God’s word is your spiritual food and your weapon; make sure you have one with you everywhere you go. Keep one in your bag, your car, next to your bed for reading, one in your office, and so on.

Pray for wisdom and understanding

The Author of the Bible is ALIVE! He can help you understand it (James 1:5; 1 John 2:27; 1 Kings 3:5-12). When was the last time you asked the Lord for understanding?

Keep your sins confessed

Keep yourself clean (1 John 1:9). God is not particularly interested in teaching His word to someone with a wicked heart (Psalms 66:18; Ezekiel 14:1-9).

Always believe what you read

To question God’s word is satanic (Genesis 3:1), so don’t ever question it. Just believe it by faith. If you can’t understand it, then at least believe it.

Make it a habit to mark your Bible

Start marking your Bible by underlining or circling special words and verses. Write important notes and references in the margins.

Thank God for all you learn

We really are unworthy to sit at the feet of our Saviour and learn, yet He commands us to do so. We should count it an honour and privilege! When you learn a new truth, no matter how small, always THANK Him! (1 Thessalonians 5:18; Romans 1:21).

Apply what you learn

James 1:22 tells us to DO the word, not just hear it. God teaches us the word because He desires to use us in His service. He feeds us that we might be healthy and strong to fight His battles. Apply what you learn as you learn. Get your basic training and then get out on the battlefield!

Why believe the Authorized Version is the only word of God?

There is so much that we could write on this subject, but this study (even only a small part of the content included within) should be enough to show you that God has preserved His word for us today in the Authorized Version (AV) King James Holy Bible.

God promised to PRESERVE His word

The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever. – Psalms 12:6-7

For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations. – Psalms 100:5

Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. – Matthew 24:35

  • There MUST be an infallible, inerrant Book somewhere if it is not the Authorized Version.
  • Original autographs were inspired (God used men to write His words) – the Authorized Version is the same autographs preserved (God took His words already written and used men to preserve them).
  • Various translations contain different readings – God is not the author of confusion (1 Corinthians 14:33).
  • God warned us about Bible perversion (2 Corinthians 2:17; Jeremiah 23:26; Revelation 22:18-19).

Translated under a God-ordained king

  • Main subject of the Holy Bible is the kingdom that God intends to give to His Son (Revelation 19:16).

Where the word of a king is, there is power: and who may say unto him, What doest thou? – Ecclesiastes 8:4

The Authorized Version has no copyright

  • Not forbidden for anyone to copy.
  • For over 400 years, billions of copies have been printed without requesting permission from anyone.
  • The Holy Spirit has blessed and used the Authorized Version for so long, and He allows ministries to print it without cost.

God always translates perfectly

  • “Translate”, “translated” mentioned 4 times in the Holy Bible – God is Translator each time:
    • Translated Saul’s kingdom to David – 2 Samuel 3:10.
    • Christians translated into the kingdom of Jesus Christ – Colossians 1:13.
    • God translated Enoch that he should not see death – Hebrews 11:5.
  • The point is that a translation CAN be perfect, if God is involved in the translating. The Authorized Version translators were just merely instruments in translating and preserving God’s word.
  • Modern versions have a majority belief in them, and the majority is always wrong:
    • majority will not be saved – Matthew 7:13-14,
    • majority rejected Noah’s preaching,
    • majority perished in Sodom and Gomorrah,
    • majority of Israel worshipped Aaron’s golden calf,
    • majority rejected prophets such as Jeremiah,
    • majority rejected Jesus Christ’s earthly ministry, and
    • majority still reject Jesus Christ today.

The Authorized Version produces good fruit

  • Nearly all Christians I know or speak with were led to Christ with the Authorized Version.
  • Modern translations produce MONEY and EVIL fruit.
  • How is it that people naturally believe the Authorized Version, but must be educated out of his belief in it?
  • The Authorized Version is easier to memorise, to translate into other languages, and to understand – the language gives the impression that one is reading a Book very different from others and far superior to the rest.

The Authorized Version translators believed they were handling the very words of God

  • Modern translators approach the scriptures with skepticism – “Yea, hath God said?” (Genesis 3:1).
  • If you lack faith in God’s word, you are in no condition to translate it – this eliminates every revision committee in the past 100 years (highly educated men and women who were heady, high-minded, proud, and thought their intelligence qualified them to tamper with His words).
  • The Authorized Version translators’ scholarship far exceeded these modern translators – they remained humble, and allowed God to use them as instruments rather than trying to judge and correct the words.

The Authorized Version translators were honest in their work

  • Idioms change when translating from one language to another, thus it is necessary to add certain words to help the reader grasp full meaning of the text:
    • The Authorized Version translators put these in italics, proving their honesty – modern versions do NOT italicise!
    • The italic words are inspired by God – compare Matthew 4:4 “word”, with Deuteronomy 8:3 “word” for example.
  • Elhanan slaying Goliath? NO. Added “the brother of” Goliath in 2 Samuel 21:19 as 1 Chronicles 20:5 said “brother”.
  • Last verse of 1 John 2:23 was missing at translation time – the Authorized Version translators added as italics. BUT they were right to do so as newer manuscripts found contain the last half.
  • Peter quotes Psalms 16:8 in Acts 2:25, and he uses the italic words. How did the Authorized Version translators know this if the Lord did not lead them?
  • All new versions compare themselves to the Authorized Version.
  • New versions do NOT compare themselves to each other, but ALWAYS to the Authorized Version.
    • Why not attack one another? Because Satan has no desire to divide his own kingdom – Matthew 12:26.

Time in history in which the Authorized Version was translated

  • Translated during the Philadelphia church period that Jesus commended for keeping His word (Revelation 3:8-10), NOT during the Laodicean period (TODAY – last Church before the Second Coming – Revelation 3:14-22).
  • The world with time degenerates – morals, characters, education have degenerated since 1611.
  • The greatest missionary work was done between 1700 to 1900 – God made HIS Bible ready for this.

No one has ever proven the Authorized Version is not God’s word

  • The Authorized Version should be presumed innocent until proven guilty – like everything else.
  • No scholar has actually proven that there are errors in the Authorized Version. They say it, but do not prove it, because there are NONE. The same goes with scientists and atheists, and other people who reject and mock the word of God. NO ONE has ever proven it incorrect on anything!

Manuscript evidence

  • Over 5,000 manuscripts – 95% support the Authorized Version – new versions only supported by 5%.
  • New versions supported by 2 corrupt 4th century manuscripts – Vaticanus and Siniaticus – both filled with text alterations to meet demands of Roman Catholic tradition.
  • New versions include Apocrypha, which Jesus excluded from the OT – Luke 24:44.
  • Line of manuscripts:
    • New versions (corruptions) from Alexandria, Egypt, and Rome (the Holy Bible speaks NEGATIVELY of all of these).
    • Critical hand of man, Origen – his ideology was the Holy Bible to be divine, BUT not perfect or without error.
      • God always called His people (and Son) out of Egypt
      • Romans nailed Jesus to the cross
      • Romans persecuted Christians for thousands of years (over 200 million people)
      • Romans destroyed Jerusalem in 70AD
      • Christ will destroy the Revised Roman Empire at His Second Coming – Daniel 2:7, Revelation 13.
    • Modern translators/Bible critics have this ideology and accept Alexandrian to be more superior.
    • Wescott and Hort (1871-1881) – ever modern ‘Bible’ uses their New Testament translation, were:
      • unsaved
      • worshipped Mary
      • kept Roman sacraments
      • rejected infallibility of scripture
      • rejected literal account of Genesis
      • supported Darwin and his evolution theory
      • did not believe in Second Coming, the Millennium or literal heaven
      • rejected hell and prayed to the dead in purgatory
      • refused to believe the Trinity
      • refused to believe in angels,
      • their Greek text (which ALL modern ‘Bibles’ are based on), was SECRETLY given to the Revision Committee (the members were sworn to a pledge of secrecy, and met in silence for 10 years)
      • their Greek text was only released to public 5 days BEFORE the Revised Version ‘Bible’ came out, thus preventing Bible-believing scholars such as Dean Burgon from reviewing it and exposing it for the trash it was.
  • The Authorized Version (Textus Receptus – received text) from Antioch, Syria (Bible speaks POSITIVELY of this place).
    • Ideology was that Holy Bible is not only divine, but perfect and without error.
    • Antioch is where disciples were first called Christians, Paul & Barnabas taught the word of God for 1 year (Acts 11:26), manuscript line called Syrian or Byzantine type text the Authorized Version is from.
    • Dead Sea Scrolls support the Authorized Version and the Textus Receptus.
  • New manuscripts have been found since 1611, but no new readings.
    • Sinaitic found amongst trash paper in St. Catherine’s monastery at foot of Mt. Sinai in 1841 – very similar to Vaticanus (its sister manuscript found in 1481), so readings in them were well known to the Authorized Version translators.
  • There are NO new readings available today that the Authorized Version translators did not already have.

The Authorized Version exalts the Lord Jesus Christ

  • “Search the scriptures…And they are they which testify of me.” John 5:39.
  • The Authorized Version testifies of the Lord Jesus Christ – the true word of God will ALWAYS EXALT Jesus Christ.
  • New versions attack His Diety, His Virgin Birth, His Blood Atonement, His Bodily Resurrection, His Glorious Second Coming, and any other doctrines concerning His Person.
  • New versions have hatred toward the Authorized Version and the way it gives the Lord Jesus Christ the preeminent place.
  • New versions testify AGAINST Him. This should be reason enough to convince any TRUE believer of the modern ‘Bible’ corruptions.

The Authorized Version has NOT been changed

  • The Authorized Version has had 7 editions to polish it, NOT revisions – all come from the Textus Receptus.
    • Printing changes (Gothic > Roman).
    • Spelling changes (darke, feare, euill, etc.).
    • Textual changes (correction of earlier printing errors).
    • The New King James Version is NOT a continuation of revisions. It is NOT a King James Version at all!
  • William Tyndale (1526), Coverdale Bible (1535), Matthew’s Bible (1537), Great Bible (1539), Geneva Bible (1560), Bishop’s Bible (1568), King James Bible (1611 – perfect!)
    • all the same, all formal equivalency (word-for-word).
    • modern versions are dynamic equivalency (the translator’s opinion of what the verse says or should say – free to write whatever they want).
  • No more translations then for 300 years – did we need an improvement upon perfection?

The Authorized Version is easier to read and understand

  • New versions may be ‘easier to read’ nowadays, but NOT to understand (1 Corinthians 2:10-14).
  • Today’s Christians are more worldly and less dedicated to Jesus Christ than their 19th or early 20th century counterparts, who were raised on the Authorized Version.
    • No mass spiritual awakening of any kind by modern translations – no revivals, nothing!
  • Since modern translations have been out, (to name a few) beginning with ASV 1901:
    • God and prayer have been kicked out of public schools,
    • Abortion-on-demand is legalised,
    • Homosexuality accepted nationally as an ‘alternate lifestyle’,
    • In-home pornography via television and Internet,
    • Child kidnapping and pornography running rampant,
    • Drugs have become an epidemic,
    • Suicides on the increase, and even new legal assisted suicide acceptance, and
    • Satanism, witchcraft, etc. all on the rise.

Pronouns ARE supposed to be in there

  • Greek and Hebrew use different words for 2nd person singular (thee) and 2nd person plural (ye) pronouns.
  • The Authorized Version is word-for-word, there the generic “you” would not meet the criteria for translation no matter how much English language has changed over the years:
    • T’s (thee, thine, thou, thy) = singular
    • Y’s (ye, you = plural
      • EXAMPLE in Acts 5:9:
        • AV: Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out.
        • NKJV: Then Peter said to her, “How is it that you have agreed together to test the Spirit of the Lord? Look, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out.”
        • AV: Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
        • NKJV: Do not marvel that I said to you, “You must be born again”.
          • NO salvation for ANYONE if Jesus was only addressing being born again to Nicodemus only as it says in the New King James Version!
  • Modern translators want ALL the Holy Bible to be understandable by ANYONE including the UNSAVED – NO! You DON’T change the word of God to suit people!

You are no longer ignorant of this fact now. So, if you reject it, then you are in direct rebellion to God. It’s as simple as that.

The ‘Lord’s Prayer’ is NOT what you think it is

READ: Matthew 6:9-15.

Pretty much every person today (Christian and non-Christian), thinks that the ‘Lord’s Prayer’ is the “Our Father” of Matthew chapter 6 and Luke Chapter 11.

After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. – Matthew 6:9-10

In verse 9, at the beginning of the prayer, notice the words “pray ye”.

Jesus never classified Himself with His listeners. Here, Jesus is telling His listeners to call God “Our Father”, distinctly showing us that this is NOT the ‘Lord’s prayer’ at all, since the Lord Jesus Christ never prayed it, is not praying it now, and never will pray it. It is a ‘Disciples’ Prayer’ given to Old Testament, Jewish disciples before the crucifixion, resurrection, and the Church Age.

“Our Father” again refers to Israel, and is never given to a Gentile to pray, nor does Christ anywhere in the Sermon on the Mount even intimate that God is “Father” to anyone but an Israelite! Gentiles do not pray this, and as Christians we don’t pray this.

Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. – Matthew 6:11-13

You cannot force the Sermon on the Mount and the so-called ‘Lord’s prayer’ into Christian practice. The Christian can follow the prayer to verse 11, but verse 12 offers some difficulties, as no Christian is forgiven on the basis of forgiving others; they are forgiven, and cleansed, when they judge their own sin and confess it to Jesus (1 Cor. 11: 30–33; 1 John 1: 9).

If a Christian’s forgiveness is conditional on forgiving others, then the atonement of Christ (not yet accomplished at this point!) is insufficient, for “forgiveness and remission” of sins are clearly said to be part of the finished work of Christ in the believer (Col. 1: 14; Acts 13: 38–40).

For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. – Matthew 6:14-15

If there was any doubt as to the ‘salvation’ involved in verse 12, it is now dispelled. The passage is teaching salvation from sin and forgiveness on the basis of WORKS.

If it isn’t ignorance, pride, or lack of study, then perhaps the reason why Christians pray this prayer is that they don’t believe in the finished work of Christ on the cross; they don’t believe in eternal security. They refuse to accept the Pauline revelation on the death and atonement of Christ for sinners.

This prayer then is addressed to God as the “Father” of a physical nation that He begat, and to which He gave birth.

Unless this Matthew passage is left in its Jewish setting, with a primary doctrinal application to the Second Coming (and an outline for a doctrinal prayer for the entire nation of Israel during the Tribulation), it will destroy the soul of the person who seeks to justify him or herself by ‘following’ its example.
